The friendship and promising cooperation prospects between Morocco and the United Kingdom were celebrated during an Iftar organized on Friday evening in London by the British Moroccan Society (BMS).

Held at the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) headquarters in central London, the event brought together representatives of British businesses who shared their experiences in Morocco.

From renewable energy and finance to new technologies and agriculture, British economic operators highlighted the significant strides Morocco has made in development under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

They expressed their admiration for the expanding business opportunities in Morocco, thanks to the large-scale projects launched across the Kingdom, while calling for increased efforts to strengthen economic ties between Morocco and the UK.

Speaking on the occasion, Morocco’s ambassador to the UK, Hakim Hajoui, expressed his satisfaction in seeing members of the Moroccan community working within British companies playing an active role in supporting investors across various sectors.

The diplomat emphasized the growing interest of British businesses in investing in Morocco, revealing that over 150 companies have visited the Kingdom to witness firsthand its extensive infrastructure and vast business opportunities.

He recalled that Morocco is currently undertaking major development projects, particularly in preparation for hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, opening promising prospects in diverse sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, new technologies, and innovation.

In the technological field, Hajoui highlighted that Morocco is attracting not only large corporations but also startups and SMEs, positioning itself as “a digital hub” for Africa and beyond.

The Kingdom’s strategic location makes it more than just a market; it serves as a gateway to opportunities throughout the region and across the continent, he stressed.

For his part, ABCC Deputy Director General Abdeslam El-Idrissi praised Morocco’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, stability, and vast pool of skilled and motivated talent.

These assets, he said, make Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a prime destination for investors.

Meanwhile, BMS President Mike Wood highlighted the social dimension of relations between the two countries, emphasizing the role of civil society organizations in strengthening ties and praising the warm, family-like atmosphere of this special Iftar.
