OCP Nutricrops, a subsidiary of the OCP Group and a leader in phosphate-based fertilizers, has announced a major strategic investment to expand its production capacity. The company is launching two new mining and industrial hubsin Mzinda (Youssoufia) and Meskala (Essaouira), under the Strategic Program Mzinda-Meskala (SP2M).
These new facilities, equipped with cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions, will progressively increase fertilizer production capacity by 9 million tons by 2028, with 4.5 million tons available by 2026.
Advanced Technologies for a Flexible and Sustainable Production
The Mzinda and Meskala hubs represent a new generation of industrial sites, integrating Industry 5.0 technologies, artificial intelligence, and automation. They will operate entirely on renewable energy sources (solar and wind) and use non-conventional water sources through desalination and wastewater treatment. This approach aligns with OCP Nutricrops’ commitment to carbon neutrality by 2040.
Strategic Investment and Collaboration Opportunities
The new hubs will address the growing global demand for sustainable fertilizers, reinforcing OCP Nutricrops’ leadership in customized fertilizer production, including Triple Superphosphate (TSP) and TSP+. These industrial sites will also drive innovation in mining, chemicals, logistics, and renewable energy, supporting OCP Group’s energy transition strategy.
