Authorities at the Port of Algeciras announced Thursday that passenger traffic between the Spanish port of Tarifa and Tangier has once again been disrupted due to adverse weather conditions affecting the Strait of Gibraltar.

Scheduled departures from Tarifa have been canceled, except for the 8:00 PM sailing, which will depend on weather conditions.

Meanwhile, ferry services between Algeciras and Tangier Med are experiencing delays, though no cancellations have been reported so far, according to the Algeciras port authorities.

The Spanish National Meteorological Agency issued a yellow-level weather warning, valid until 12:00 PM, for the Strait of Gibraltar and parts of the Cádiz region. Rainfall of up to 40 liters per square meter is expected in some areas.

Additionally, the coastline facing the Strait is under weather surveillance due to high waves, with southwestern winds reaching speeds of 80 km/h and wave heights potentially reaching up to four meters, according to the meteorological agency.
