Moroccan security forces at Marrakech-Menara Airport arrested a French national of Tunisian origin in the early hours of Tuesday. The 40-year-old suspect was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.
According to security sources consulted by Hespress, the arrest was made after a routine check in INTERPOL’s database revealed that the individual was internationally wanted. The warrant, issued by France, was based on suspicions of his involvement in an international drug and psychotropic substance trafficking case.
Following the arrest, the suspect was placed in police custody under extradition procedures, while French security authorities were notified to facilitate the transfer of his case file.
This arrest highlights Morocco’s commitment to international security cooperation and its ongoing efforts to track down individuals wanted for transnational crimes.
